Latest update following our Patient Engagement events

Posted on:

Thank you to everyone who took the time to come to the face-to-face events held in Newport on 24 April and Wootton Bridge on 26 and 27 April.

Approximately 30 patients and interested parties attended the Newport event, with approximately 40 attending each of the other two events in Wootton. Attendees were able to hear background information, our latest position and had the opportunity to put questions to our GP Practice Partners, Solent NHS Trust, the Integrated Care Board (ICB) as well as landlords Assura who were present at the first event held in Newport.

We were really grateful to hear everyone’s views and feedback as this has helped us get a better understanding of the impact this will have on our patients and allow us to be as informed as possible. Those who attended the second and third event in Wootton, were able to hear from the Solent NHS Trust representative who advised that they are actively looking into options to maintain a healthcare presence within the Wootton area and confirmed any proposed changes to locations would not now come into effect until Spring 2025.

Thank you to everyone who completed the patient engagement Survey. The survey is now closed and information is currently being collated. We are hopeful that the results of the survey allow us to understand the impact that the changes to Medina Healthcare will have on patients and to give an insight into how we can support our patients needs in the future.

Further information, such as any progress we can share against key issues raised around travel and transport and future service provision will be provided via our regularly updated FAQs which are available on our website.
